Are you running your business or is your business running you? Many people feel overwhelmed by their business or job. It doesn’t have to be that way. In my experience, people generally want to do well at their job or running their business. The intention of doing well and actually doing well are worlds apart. Most people simply have never been educated on how to manage their time and resources. Most of us have heard the phrase ” Work smarter not harder”, but few understand what it means. Someone wanting to rise through the ranks at their job should spend an equal amount of time learning how to handle a greater work load. Job advancement and success running a business are dependant on a person’s or peoples ability to multiply themselves through others. Arrogance, pride, ego, obsession, and a whole list of other poisonous traits tend to hold people back from ever achieving their goals and the income that comes with it. People over time become tired of the fight and submit to complacency at their job. This is a tragedy. Since most people possess something that an employer or customer would love to take advantage of. Hopefully some of these thoughts will make life easier and you can make your job work for you instead of you being a slave to your job. Make a list at the end of each day that you want to accomplish for the next day. This method gives you direction and will not seem so overwhelming when you start on it the next day. Organize your lists in order of highest value to your job. Much time is spent on less important tasks because they tend to be easier. The difficult tasks done quickly and well will be the ones that make you stand above others at your job. Spend you time at your job on your work. Most people waste massive amounts of time on personal phone calls, texting, personal emails, or simple surfing the net. ( about 2 of every 8 hours spent at work is wasted according to a 2011 study. ) How much more can you get done in 40 hours than 32? These 3 little changes will get you promoted at your job, reduce your stress, and leave your mind clear to enjoy your life and family the way God intended.
